In conjunction with the Philadephia Department of Prisons, Bennett Compost is excited to be part of a community drop-off program serving the Holmesburg community and surrounding neighborhoods. The program allows residents to drop off food scraps for composting at no-cost to them.

The bins are located at 8201 Torresdale Avenue.

In order to participate you need to take the following steps:

  1. Before you arrive, download the metroKEY app on your phone from either the IOS or Google Play stores.

  2. Sign in or register for a new account.

  3. Check your email to complete your registration.

  4. Head to the bin location, open the app, select the bin to unlock the lid and dump!

Please reach out to us if you have any questions about how to participate.

What can I compost as part of the Community Compost drop-off program?

Please refer to the list below.

We recommend bringing your material to the drop-off site in a reusable container, dumping it, and then taking your container home to wash and reuse. Have any questions? Feel free to reach out via email or phone and we’ll be happy to assist.
